IMEDTRS

The Immersive Medical Tension Relief System (IMEDTRS) project consists of an integrated solution using VR and specialized hardware that will be applied in the context of dental treatments to abstract the patient from the treatment process through a relaxing and personalized virtual environment.

Using a haptic sensor, the patient’s level of stress/tension will be detected, and depending on this, artificial intelligence (AI) will alter the immersive VR experience to find the mo st suitable experience to reduce dental anxiety and/or phobia.

Antistress VR Experience

The VR experience is a distraction that shifts the patient’s focus away from the stressful procedure or environment. It transports the patient to a tranquil, serene setting, such as a peaceful forest or a calming beach, allowing them to escape the medical setting and associated anxieties momentarily.

Furthermore, the VR application can simulate physical sensations and emotions, enabling healthcare professionals to better understand patients’ perspectives and empathize with their experiences.

The VR environment is a soothing experience, with visuals and audio elements to help users regulate their emotions and stress levels.

Eye-tracking technology lets users select the experience and interact with virtual objects. This interactive element allows the user to progress through experiences, solve tasks, and navigate the VR environment without interference from input devices, fostering a sense of optimism and hope for VR’s potential in healthcare.

Feedback to the Doctor

The system also includes a mobile application that records the session’s biometric data and informs the doctor about the patient’s stress levels during the consultation. 

This application is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to stress management by combining biometric monitoring and a VR experience.

The mobile application leverages a range of sensors to continuously track the user’s biometric data, such as heart rate, skin conductance, and respiration patterns. 

This real-time monitoring allows the app to detect and analyze the user’s physiological responses to various situations, providing valuable insights into their stress levels.

As the user interacts with the VR environment, the app monitors their biometric data, allowing the healthcare provider to better understand the patient’s stress response and tailor their treatment accordingly.

NAVVR

​​NAVVR is an Astronavigation Training System in Virtual Reality that aims to improve the training of Astronavigation by enabling complete control of a realistic Virtual Reality simulation of the Celestial Sphere, where the user is placed in any geolocation, at any time of the day, in any day of any year, while configuring the length of a day in real-time.

​NAVVR allows you to configure a training simulation by setting the ​Geolocation, ​Date & Time (GMT), Coordinate System (Horizontal, Equatorial, Hourly), ​Duration of a Day (E.g., One day takes 30 minutes to complete), and ​Objects visible in the Celestial Sphere. 

​For single users or classrooms

Single users can control the simulation and experiment freely. In classroom mode, the teacher can customize the simulation so that the entire class can participate via multiplayer.

NAAVR gives you total control over the learning experience, using an intuitive and fast-paced interface and placing the user in a realistic simulation environment.  With NAAVR, you can train many realistic scenarios in a short period and with the possibility of quickly repeating them.
