The START(H)UP programme provided comprehensive support for innovations that show the potential to have a positive impact on healthcare. The most promising ideas were developed into commercially viable products through a multi-disciplinary approach, involving healthcare, medicine, Medtech, Biotech, and Pharmaceutical industry.

We were one of them!
Our strategy to mitigate this problem is to use state of the art technology (e.g., augmented reality, virtual reality, smart beacons) combined with gamification concepts to encourage and promote a healthier lifestyle. We created “Viva Bem – Epic 5”, which is a mobile application developed in the context of the participation of the Portuguese athlete José Massuça in the EPIC 5 challenge.
Associated with the VivaBem wellness platform, users could participate in a charity event during the EPIC 5 challenge, in which by walking and completing daily challenges, they could convert their steps into financial support distributed to 5 institutions. By helping social institutions and competing against others, users were encouraged to move and avoid a sedentary lifestyle.
Furthermore, in partnership with Fátima Lopes and her amazing team, we developed the new version of “Simply Flow by Fátima Lopes”, a platform dedicated to wellness, nutrition, leisure, and work-life balance. Every day the platform has new posts, new tips, and new advice promoting a more balanced life.
