Opened on October 20, 2015, as part of the city’s 145th anniversary commemoration ceremony, this Welcome Center is a must-stop location for tourists in Covilhã. This futuristic-looking building is a new multimedia tourist service center at the main entrance of Covilhã. Its large multimedia installation comprises nine interactive apps, providing visitors with a unique perspective on the region’s main highlights.

Our Solution
Designed and created by inKlusion in partnership with architects Joana Carvalho and Marco Santos, the total area is divided into four distinct spaces. These spaces lead visitors through various cultural experiences where they can learn about the city’s history, culture, and modern-day life.
Each interior space is carefully designed according to the brand and in harmony with the physical space, providing a clean and relaxing space for users to enjoy the multimedia experiences.
Historical Interactive Experience
The visitor will use gestures to control an app that details the history of Covilhã. From the early ages, its importance during the Discoveries period, to its cloth industrialization and modern times.
Modern Day 360º Virtual
Visit
Visitors can take a virtual tour of Covilhã and its surroundings. This visit is totally controlled by the visitor, who can interact with gestures and choose which path to take or which point of interest to visit.
Test Your Knowledge Quiz
With this app, users can put what they learned about Covilhã to the test in a fun quiz! The best results are shared on Facebook, with a complementary picture of the current best visitor.
Interactive Map of Covilhã
Learn about the customs and traditions of each location within the geographical limits of Covilhã with this app. The visitor can choose the location by clicking on a physical custom-made wooden map that controls the display of textual information, pictures, and videos.
Personalised Welcome Message
Visitors are greeted upon entry with a video projection welcoming them to Covilhã.
